The suspected murderer of the garment employee Ramya Vidarshini Abeywardena is been remanded till the next 17th and is taking treatment at the Mahiyangana hospital under the protection of prison officials.
The police suspects that while she was abducted she was speaking over the mobile phone with someone and the police states that her screams would have been heard by him. When the suspect was arrested he had given poison to the 15 year old girl whom he was having in his custody and he had consumed poison as well.
It is reported that this young man has been married earlier as well. The suspect was arrested on last 3rd and was admitted to the Mahiyangana hospital. After reporting of the facts of the above to the Mahiyangana magistrate courts the magistrate arrived at the hospital for inspection and ordered the suspect to be remanded.
It is reported that the condition of the suspect who is receiving treatment at the Mahiyangana hospital under the prison official’s protection is not critical and police protection also have been provided. The police states that they have decided to inspect the mobile phone in which the garment employee was speaking and was later disconnected when the screams were heard while the garment employee was being abducted by the suspect who was awaiting for the garment employee when she got off the bus on the day this incident took place.
The police have decided to take the court’s permission in this regard. The police have found two mobile phones belonging to her from the place where she was murdered. A police team including Mahiyangana police inspector Weerawansa is conducting further investigations.
