The Minister stated that the CID will present the footage to the courts in the near future. Minister Rajitha Senarathna further stated that there are several VIP’s in the CCTV footage.
The death of ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen, whose burnt body was found in a vehicle near the Shalika Grounds in Narahenpita, was confirmed as being a murder in the final report submitted to Court by a board of medical officers.
Complaints had been lodged with the CID that the ruggerites death on May 17th, 2012, was not an accident.
According to the report, the victim had not been driving at the time of the accident, and his body had been transferred to the drivers seat after being assaulted.
