Surgeon had put her under anesthesia and operated on the right breast as well later
A man who admitted his wife to the Kaluthara-Nagoda General Hospital for an operation on a lump that had developed on her right breast has complained to the police that the surgeon had performed the operation on her left breast instead.
She had noticed the mishap when after regaining consciousness and brought it to the notice of the surgeon. Thereafter the surgeon had put her under anesthesia and operated on the right breast as well.
Her husband had lodged a complaint at the Kalutara South Police Station over this clinical mishap.
The surgeon had said that the samples removed from the breasts had been sent for a biopsy report. A statement from the woman had also been obtained.
The Kalutara Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
