Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa currently addressing the Parliament, for the first time since he was elected as an MP from the recently concluded General Election.
In his speech, Rajapaksa requested the government not to accept money from foreign nations for armed forces reform.
Since the government has said that it has saved money from Presidential expenses, it can use that money for the intended reform, he said.
Rajapaksa also hit out at some of his critics, saying that some of them were Cabinet Ministers in his government. They did not oppose to his policies while in the government, he reminded.
