The JVP filed a complaint with the Bribery Commission (BC) to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption citing that money had been misappropriated in projects related to the 2013 Deyata Kirula Exhibition.
Representatives of the JVP emphasized in the complaint that Rs.3 crore had been obtained for several projects and deposited in a private account.
Former MP Wasantha Piyatisssa said that Former District Secretary of Ampara Neil De Alwis and Former Secretary of Defense Gotabhaya Rajapaksa have been named respondents in the complaint.
JVP Western Provincial Councilor Attorney-at-Law Sunil Watagala stated that another respondent has been named in the petition which is the Chairman of Ampara Urban Council.
