Nirosha Wimalaratne, who popularly known as the 'cobra girl' or ‘snake girl’ and her husband Ruwan Lakmal were freed on surety bail of Rs.100, 000 each.
Kekirawa Police stated the couple was produced before the Kekirawa Magistrate on charges of having tried to sell their 10-month-old infant.
They stated the arrest was made on a complaint that the couple had sold the infant. But the husband told police that they had handed over the infant to one of his sisters to be looked after till they returned from Colombo.
