The groom’s party had filed a complaint against the brides party saying that the bride’s party has intentionally did not turn up at the reception hall to fulfil the “Poruwa rituals” and subjecting them to humiliation.
The 33year old groom was a businessman from Sigiriya area and the 22 year old bride is a resident of Dambulla area.
The couple has met 8 months ago and both the parties has arranged the wedding at a reception hall in Dambulla town.
The bride’s late arrival to the hall after the photo session had caused humiliation to the groom’s party and the enraged groom had filed a complaint at the Dambulla police station pleading for justice to be done as he has spent lavishly to arrange the wedding.
The bride’s party had arrived late to the reception hall since the bride who was already sick before the wedding had suddenly got a high fever and had to consult a doctor.
When they arrived the groom’s party had already left the hall.
The bride’s party also had sought assistance from the police and filed a complaint against the groom’s party claiming that they also had spent a lavish amount in arranging the wedding.
And the bride’s party claimed that they arrived late to the hall since the bride fell sick after the photo session and had to consult a doctor.
