Sanga’s departure has never yet ceased to be the topic of discussion among cricket fans. Sports commentators still continue to evaluate him. But his father Mr Kshema Sangakkara expressed a slight disapproval about the cricket life of his son.
He conveys his disapproval logically, with reference to technical knowledge. Sanga’s father says that he could tell when his son is about to be dismissed merely by observing his manner of playing and says that his predictions have not yet gone wrong. He expressed these views at a discussion with The Indian Express.
He had also stated that he was not without some fear to watch his son playing and that he did not like the idea of watching a match at a stadium due to this reason. Kshema had also said that even on TV he does not continuously watch him playing, but does so from time to time.
Sangakkara’s father conveyed his views about the comparison of his son to Don Bradman. His ultimate batsman is Sir Don Bradsman.
“Don Bradman is a true batsman. He always scores a century per every three innings. Do not misunderstand me – Kumar did show his talent, but I have my doubts as to whether he performed in his true capacity and succeeded in all his targets.
He also said that Mahela is by far technologically sound and employs strong safety strokes, yet Sanga was able to score more and retain a higher average than Mahela owing to his patience, perseverance and determination.
Mr Kshema Sangakkara had further said that Sanga is good at tennis too and that he lost at a tennis match between Saranga his sister and himself, and that despite being held within family that is what made him decide against going into tennis.
At the end of the interview he had mentioned that it is his desire to see Sanga taking up Golf.
