They had been sporting in the river when one was suddenly drowned. The other too had witnessed it and had screamed and told a person in a boat that his friend was drowned.
Though he came at once and started looking for the drowned child the attempt had been unsuccessful and the body of the child had been found with the help of locals.
The drowned child is 17 years old and it is reported that the child who accompanied him was assailed by locals and relatives.
The child was taken to police custody to protect him from being further assaulted.
