Former Minister Ravi Karunanayake says that there will be 50 cabinet minsters will be chosen for the upcoming national government. Out of the 60 posts UNP will have 33 ministerial posts and the balance 17 will be from the UPFA.
It is also proposed to appoint the first 30 ministers and the rest to be appointed at a later parliamentary session .The prime minister and the president is currently having discussions on this subject.
On the 23rd of August a session was carried out between the members of the UNP and UPFA focusing on the distribution of the ministerial posts.
It is also suggested that 45% of the Ministerial posts will be given to the UPFA and 55% of the ministerial posts will be given to UNP.
