The Sri Lanka Administrative Service Association stated today that its members will take trade union action unless action is taken against deputy minister Ranjan Ramanayake for scolding the Divulapitiya Divisional Secretary.
During an inspection to a soil cutting site at Dunagaha in Divulapitiya, Deputy Minister Ramanayake contacted the Divisional Secretary in the Area over the phone.
Meanwhile, MP Indika Anuruddha says that he will file a 500 million rupee defamation lawsuit against deputy minister Ranjan Ramanayake.
At the same time, Gampaha District Secretary Sunil Jayalath said that Divulapitiya Divisional Secretary H.M.N.S. Herath made a complaint with regard to the incident.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service Association Ranjith Ariyarathna, in a communiqué, stated this afternoon that his association condemned the incident.
His communiqué also has requested the President and the Prime Minister to create a conducive environment for its membership to discharge their duties independently.
