He was alleged to have been involved in several crimes and arrested earlier in connection with the same and granted bail many times.
Yesterday he was shot in Pallikudah as he was on his way back in a three wheeler after reporting to Tangalle Police.
An unidentified group of persons who arrived in a car had fired at them at Pallikudah junction in Tangalle after purposely colliding with the three wheeler.
The injured persons including “Ukkuva” were admitted to the Tangalle Hospital and “Ukkuva’ died after getting admitted to the hospital. One of the two who got injured at the incident is receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the Tangalle Hospital and the other one had been transferred to the Mathara hospital.
38 year old Nilusha alias Ukkuva is a father of two children.
According to sources, Ukkuwa was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of a bus conductor at the Tangalle bus station.
