Police believe the suspects who carried out the Idantota triple murder in Ambalangoda committed the murder in Meetiyagoda this morning.
A senior police officer in charge of the area said that a T-56 has been used for the murder this morning.
The victim has been identified as 45-year old Vipul Priyantha who was a fruit vendor at the Meetiyagoda junction.
Two motor cyclists who walked into the victim’s fruit stall have shot him dead before fleeing the scene.
Police found an empty bullet and a T-56 live bullet at the crime scene.

The victim had been shot previously at the same fruit stall on February 13th but managed to escape the attempt.
The gunman who shot him on the previous occasion is currently in remand custody.
Police said the Case is scheduled to be taken before the Balapitiya Magistrate on December 15th.

Police added that the respective suspect is related to the victim and the other family victims of the triple murder committed on 5th of December at Idantota.
Police have also received information that Vipul Priyantha could have been shot dead today in suspicions that he provided information with regard to the triple murder.Make a Comment
