The verbal war between Ranthunga and Sumathipala erupted when Thilanga Sumathipala criticized Arjuna for incidents from his captaincy, decades back.
His comments disdained Arjuna, Sri Lanka’s only captain to direct his team to a world cup victory. Sumathipala, further pointing fingers at Ranthunga for a number of incidents reminded Ranthunga to know his grounds and level for SLC chairmanship will belong to Sumathipala for two years.
Responding to views expressed by Sumathipala, Ranatunga said that he was scared of Sumathipala for his history.
Further answering who Arjuna Ranthunga is, the former captain said SLC president should have questioned himself about his own history instead. He remarked that his siblings and he were brought up by hard earned money unlike badly eared business money that raised Sumathipala.
Ranathunga elaborated on clearing many allegations made by Sumathipala and confirmed he would sue him and explain further at courts.
