Accordingly the ship has left the Galle harbor.
The Kandy ship belonging to the Ceylon Shipping Company was maintained by the Avant-Garde Maritime Pvt Limited as a weapon store.
The ship was seized by the police on18th January this year and since the ship was in a deteriorated state the Ceylon Shipping company had requested permission from the court to transfer the weapons to another ship.
Accordingly the court ordered the ship to be released to the concerned company on 22nd October.
However, a motion was produced to the Galle Chief Magistrate courts by the company in regard of not releasing the ship.
Considering it the Galle Chief Magistrate Miss Nilupuli Lankapura warned the Assistant Harbor Master for not carrying out the order of releasing the ship, which was issued by the courts earlier.
The Galle Chief Magistrate has .stated that it is not necessary to obtain crime investigation department’s permission to carry out the court orders. If the court orders are not carried out, steps will be taken in regard of disrespecting the court.
