Shaamali Perera, The Wife of Former DIG Vass Gunawardana who was sentenced to death over the murder of Businessman Mohommad Siyam, says that her husband is innocent and that an appeal will filed shortly.

She expressed these views at a media briefing held at her residence in Boralesgamuwa this morning.


6 suspects including Former DIG Vass Gunawardana and his son Ravindu Gunawardana were sentenced to death after they were found guilty of the murder of Millionaire Businessman Mohamed Siyam.

The father of Mohommad Siyam, first said that Vass Gunawardana was innocent and then later withdrew the statement he made.
