However Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake states that the price of vehicles was hiked due to the heavy traffic congestion in roads in the country.
He stated this while taking part in a test drive tour of the Mattakuliya CTB depot.
He further stated that according to the conditions of the Sri Lankan roads number of vehicles has increased. He also stated that monthly nearly 60,000 thousand vehicles increase and whether they are to travel on the sky. And that only 50%of the tax have been raised and that is not a significant hike.
