The invitation for the speech was announced in all three languages and the announcement in Sinhala and Tamil called out President Maithripala’s name while the announcer who called out in English mistakenly announced Mahinda Rajapaksa’s name as the President.
Later on the announcer apologized for the mistake and called out President Maithripala’s name to give the main speech.
