“Police tortured me”
“I was forced to sign the papers, as I couldn’t bear the inhumane POLICE BRUTALITY”
The Seya Sadewmi’s murder suspect Dunesh Priyashantha alias “Kondaya” reveals to the media at the media brief which was held after his mother signed his bail out yesterday, that he was tortured by the police and how his girlfriend who was from Katugasthota area left him after this incident and he further states that he signed the papers since he could not bear the inhumane treatment by the police.
He relates how he was beaten and arrested while he was working at a friend’s paddy field in Gampaha, he also mentioned that his head was covered by a fertilizer sack and was taken in a jeep.
And that he got to know that he was arrested in connection to Seya Sadewmi’s murder case only while he was been taken by the CID and beaten.
He further briefed that the CID stated that they have already found evidence that he killed Seya Sadewmi and to divulge how he abducted the girl and the manner in which she was killed.
And that his head was banged against a wall and his head was injured and due to the unbearable torture he signed the papers produced by them. And that he did not have a lawyer to relate the incident in the courts.
Dunesh also stated that was interested in body building.
