A man has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with hard labor for sexually abusing an 8-year-old boy by threatening him with scissors while he was at the temple.

In addition, the Hambantota High Court Judge also ordered to pay a compensation of Rs. 500,000 and a fine of Rs. 50,000 last evening (24).

Madavan Arachchige Mahesh Madushanka, a 27-year-old resident of Gothamigama-Kataragama and understudy at a temple in the Sooriyawewa area was sentenced in this manner.
