Traffic on the Kurunegala-Anuradhapura road has been disrupted due to flooding in the Ebawalapitiya area due to the opening of the sluice gates of the Deduru Oya reservoir.
Due to this the police are requesting drivers to use alternative routes.

Vehicles are advised to travel from Kurunegala on the Puttalam road, via Padeniya, Nikaweratiya, Daladagama, and from Kurunegala to Wellawa via Polpithigama to Mahawa and travel to Anuradhapura, police said.
