Minuwangoda Magistrate D.A. Ruwan Pathirana announced today that the DNA of elder brother of Kondaya, Saman Jayalath matches with the samples of genetic particles found on the body of Kotadeniyawa girl.
This was announced after the CID produced the DNA report of the suspect to court through a motion yesterday.
Genetech institution of Borella carried out the DNA sample testing.
Suspects Saman Jayalath and his brother Dunesh Priyashantha are now in remand until October 19th.

“I got into the house through the open window. The children were asleep. However I exited through the same window carrying the child, and retreated along the sand path.
That day I passed by the house of the child, when I saw her mother watching TV. Yet it was not possible to get inside the house at that time, because everybody including the inmates and children were awake.
Then I kept walking till night came.
When I returned the room was lit, and I knew I was going to commit something or other at that time. Then I went to the window and tried to open the pane, which I discovered then to be open. I jumped in, using the bed post as a rung to climb down. Everyone was already asleep. I entered the house furtively and looked for a knife, but could not find one. I was afraid that the woman would scream if encountered without a knife. I changed my mind since I guessed it would have called others and caused a bedlam. The kids were asleep at that time and I decided to take the child and quit."
The accused Saman Jayalath had been hiding near the house of Seya Sadewmi till night fall in anticipation of raping the girl’s mother.
He had entered the house through a window and was in search of a knife to threaten Seya’s mother and rape her.

Saman had taken Seya through the widow to a nearby woods .while molesting the child in an attempt to escape the girl has bitten his face. Angered by this action of Seya he had strangled her to death
