A person engaged in a protest last night on the roof of the sluice of the Ulhitiya Lake, saying that he was unreasonably arrested by the Giradurukotte police on false allegations.

A tense situation had occurred at the venue as he had poured petrol over himself.


Tis person who is a father of two residing in Ulhitiya was arrested last 8th on allegations regarding the distilling and the possession of legal alcohols.

However the police said that he was granted bail on that very afternoon. Anyway the person had staged a protest, climbing on the roof of the building which shields the sluice, claiming that he was arrested on baseless accusations.  The Giradurukotte police had arrived on the spot and attempted to get him down.
