The CID has recovered ruggerite Vaseem Thajudeen’s mobile phone who died mysteriously while it was in the possession of a person in Agarapathana in Nuwara Eliya.
Police Media spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that a certain individual had picked up this mobile phone during the vehicle accident connected with Thajudeen’s death in 2012.
While an employee of a shop near the Shalika Stadium in Narahenpita had picked up the phone in front of the stadium, he had subsequently given it to his son.
The person who received the mobile phone is a resident of Agarapathana.
It was possible to trace and identify Thajudeen’s mobile phone with the help of the IMEI number.
The Police Media Spokesman said that investigation is carried out with regard to the incident.
The Police Media Spokesman also said that the CID had recovered the mobile phone three weeks ago.
