The cause of yesterdays drowning incident in Jaffna where 6 students lost there lives has been determined.
Investigations revealed that 7 students were intoxicated at the time of the accident and the boat they were sailing in was not up to safety standards

The party embarked on the  boat trip having just completed their  Advance Level Examination.

6 of the 7 students drowned in the Elithivu Jetty off the coast of Kytes in Jaffna.

Police said the bodies of 6 students have been brought to Jaffna hospital.
