Wasps do a great deal of work in order to maintain the equilibrium of the environment. There had been incidents of wasps bringing in fatal attacks to the mankind and becoming real nuisance to people at times.

Recently a wasp nest was removed from the Victoria dam without harming the wasps in order to carry out repairs at the dam.


The 390 ft high Victoria dam is a creation of the British engineers  and the Mahaweli authority decided to carry out the repair work of the dam for the first time in history.
However they could not carry out the repairs as scheduled as the wasps has built their nests around the dam.
Finally the relevant authorities had to remove the wasp nests using very sophisticated mechanisms.
