The organizers had to temporarily halt the cricket match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan held yesterday at the R Premadasa grounds due to a dispute between the spectators.
Riot squads and special forces troops had to intervene to control this situation.According to the reporters the root cause of this dispute is one's improper conduct under the influence of alcohol.
The spectators of the section had thrown glass bottles to a neighbouring house and the residents of that house had thrown stones at the spectators.
However, riot police and special task force team took adequate measures to resolve the dispute.
Police media spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that the match was started few minutes after the incident. . The police had removed all the spectators from section D in order to control the situation.
