Among them are the 4 candidates from the Rajapakse's from Hambantota , 2 from the Aluvihare family from Matale, 3 from Ranathunga family from Gampaha and 2 from the Fonseka family. In addition to that fathers and sons will also be contesting this time, namely Rajitha and S.B's sons.
Instead of the husband the wives of Sarana Gunawardana and Neranjan Wickramasinghe have been given nominations this time.
Chamal Rajapakse , Namal Rajapakse, Nirupama Rajapakse, will be contesting from Hambantota district while Mahinda Rajapakse will be contesting from Kurunegala.
Prasanna Ranatunge , Arjuna Ranatunge and Ruwan Ranatunge, the three siblings of the Ranatunge family will be contesting from Gampaha District.
Ranjith Aluvihare and Wasantha Aluviahre will be representing the UNP from Mathale
Dinesh Gunawardena and Geethanjana Gunawadena as well as Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana and Lakshman Yapa Abeywardana and also Ranil Wickramsinghe and Ruwan Wijewardana are also among them.
Sarath Fonseka and Anoma Fonseka will also be contesting at the general elections. UNP national organizer Daya Gamage and his wife Anoma Gamage will be contesting under the UNP ticket.
