A 20-year-old youth has drowned in Unnichchai Tank in Batticaloa when he attempted to take a selfie with his friends.

N. M. Riyaz and three other friends have gone to bath in the tank. In a bid to keep the memory forever, the youth have decided to take a selfie. However, Riyaz has fallen in to the tank and drowned.

It was found that Riyaz had visited Macca two weeks ago.

Army officers have found his body in the tank and rushed him to the hospital. But he was already dead.
