UPFA MP Rohitha Abeygunawardena and MP Sriyani Wijewickrama were injured and hospitalized  during the protest against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake over the recent increase of Value Added Tax (VAT).


Video footage of how MP Abeygunawardena was injured and how the MP is taking rest at the hospital were released.

Further, several MPs have already visited the injured MP at the hospital.

MP Abeygunawardena had been injured while the protest march was moving from Lake House roundabout to the Central Bank past the World Trade Center.
