The 12 suspects arrested in connection to the sexual abuse of a student in Jaffna were remanded till 09th next month after they were produced before the Kytes Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Meanwhile, students of the Periyapulam Maha Vidyalaya in Jaffna protested demanding the arrest of a teacher who was involved in several sexual abuse cases. The protest was held yesterday.


Students claimed that a 55-year-old teacher was involved in these sexual abuse cases of studnets.

Police have arrested the alleged teacher.

Principal and four teachers of the Kodikamam Varani Madya Maha Vidyalaya, Jaffna, are in remand after they were caught over the sexual abuse of an 11-year-old student.
