A woman has struck her husband and killed him, before fleeing the house leaving behind her three-year-old and five-year-old sons in Beligala area in Kegalle.

The children, oblivious that their father had died, has spent five days without any protection and with only bananas to eat.


The deceased is 47-year-old Godayalage Premaratne. His body was found by the police yesterday (24).

He has married this woman from Pallewala area in Kegalle about eight years ago and lived in a half built house, he was struggling to finish building.

The couple has fought in many occasion prior to this incident, and the has left her children and disappeared for days, their neighbors has said.

On 19th night the two has fought that led to the woman attacking her husband with a pole and killing him.

The children has stayed in this house since 19th till the police found them on 24th.
