Since lately reports about how children abandoned their parents by the roads, in bus stops and even state-run hospitals flooded the media.
Amidst all this a story about four unique siblings came into light.
Sixty six-year-old Sumanawathi, 62-year-old Premadasa, 58-year-old Siripala and 53-year-old Kusumawathi from Sundarawala area in Beddegama, Galle, have refused to get married in a bid to care for their 91-year-old mother.
They said if they got married they wouldn’t have been able to take care of their mother.
Though they have aged themselves and not have a permanent job, the siblings are looking after the parent to the best they can.
