Kurunegala district Parliamentarian (MP), former President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday said his eldest son Namal, his brother Basil, MPs Wimal Weerawansa, Kumara Welgama, Mahindanada Aluthgamage, Rohitha Abeygunawardene and himself might end up behind bars very soon.
Rajapaksa said the government may try to arrest some high profile leaders from the Opposition in a bid to divert the attention of the public who are heavily burdened due to many issues including the cost-of-living.
Speaking to the media after engaging in religious observances at the Dalada Maligawa, Rajapaksa said the people today are rallying round him and some Opposition members as the government had failed to fulfill their expectations. Making a scathing attack, Rajapaksa said that during the past 12 months the government has shown its incapability on all fronts.
