A special meeting headed by former president Mahinda Rajapaksa was held yesterday. A large group of SLFP local government representatives took part in the event.
The convention, aiming to form a new party under the leadership of the former president, was held in a tourist hotel in Kochchikade area.
Former minister Basil Rajapaksa and Namal Rajapaksa also participated in the event.
