Sri Lankan team at the 12th South Asian Games brought good fame to the mother Lanka by winning a number of Golds, Silvers and Bronze medals.
The team set victoriously broke a number of South Asian records and dominated SAG waters and tracks.
Himasha Eshan won the 100m event in a record time of 10.71 seconds at the cost of previous SA record set by another Sri Lankan- Chinthaka De Soyza in the 1999 SAG. At the same event, Mohamed Ashrafu won Sri Lanka another bronze medal in a time of 10.69 seconds.
Meanwhile, Rumeshika Ratnayake finished the womens' 100m event in a time of 11.71 seconds with the gold medal of the event.
With the Himasha and Rumeshika bagging the 100m gold medals, the duo showered Sri Lanka with pride and honour as they become the South Asia’s fastest man and woman.
However, Sri Lanka is currently at the second place with a total medal tally of 87- 17 Gold medals, 37 Silver medals and 33 Bronze medals.
