United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Prince Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussain met Chief Prelates of Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters yesterday (08).

He was greeted by the Diyawadana Nilame at Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy.


Later he called on the Chief Prelate of Malwathu Chapter Ven. Galagama Sri Aththadassi thera. Their discussion on human rights issues in Sri Lanka is on the video below.

Speaking at a press conference following his visit Prince Hussain said that it was a rare privilege for him to visit historic sites such as the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Sri Lanka.
