Prasanna was killed when Embilipitiya Police raided a party he was at few weeks ago.
The former ASP of Embilipitiya was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department over the incident following questioning regarding Prasanna’s death.
Prasanna’s widow filed a fundamental human rights petition at the Supreme Court demanding compensation of Rs. 10 million over the death, and 10 persons including the Attorney General were named as respondents.
Meanwhile two other individuals, injured during the incident, are also due to file a fundamental human rights petition demanding a sum of Rs. 3 million each.
