An emerging cricket player from Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC), Dasun Shanaka established a new Sri Lanka record by hitting the most number of sixes in T20 cricket.

Dasun Hammered 16 sixes in his knock of 123 at a strike-rate of 267.39 in only 46 deliveries.


Overall, Dasun comes at a joint second on the world ranking for most sixes by a player in an innings behind only Chris Gayle who once hammered 17 sixes in Indian Premier League (IPL).

Lighting up Sri Lanka’s hope for a promising young smasher of stunning sixes, Cricket records highlight that Dasun had also scored 131 in a T20 sometimes back.

Hiru Gossip visited Dasun at SSC to interview Sri Lanka’s newest hope in Cricket.
