MTD also expecting to install CCTV cameras too to ensure that proper tests are conducted.
The new location for driving license tests at an estimated cost of Rs 93 million, will be ready in Werahera before the end of the year, stated Motor Traffic Department (MTD).
The testing track proposed under the 100-Day programme is being constructed on a three-and-a-half acre plot in three separate stages.
MTD stated the advantage of these testing lanes is that they would feature all types of roads whereby the drivers would experience wherever they drive. Which means there will be slopes and curves, so that prospective drivers would be exposed to all types of conditions when they get the license.
And, this type of test will help to establish whether applicants for licenses possess the basic knowledge and skills mandatory. MTD also expecting to install CCTV cameras too to ensure that proper tests are conducted.
