Mayor of Colombo A.J.M. Musammil says that a new meter system has been introduced to charge parking fees within the city limits of Colombo.

Fees from vehicles parked in Colombo city will be charged properly with effect from today. Colombo Municipal Council stated the new system will initially be in place at 1600 parking lots by Galle Road and Duplication Road.


Mayor Musammil further said that charges ranging from 10, 20, 30 and 50 rupees will be charged for per motor cycle, three wheeler, motor car or van and a bus or a lorry respectively.
