Investigations reveals, The woman who killed her new born, was influenced by post-delivery stress
The investigation into the strangulation of a 14-day old new born by her mother at Castle hospital in Borella has revealed that the cause of the killing was post-delivery stress.
It has been reported that the mother has been arrested and transferred to Colombo National Hospital for further treatment.
The mother along with her child were admitted to Castle hospital a few days ago seeking treatment for the baby who had a high fever. The mother has been remanded till December 31st. The suspect is a 34 year old resident of Malabe.
