An unidentified group who entered a night club in Anuradapura around 11.45 last night has killed its owner by assaulting with swords and clubs.

The 57 year old victim who is also a Karate champion succumbed to his injuries after admitting to the Anuradhapura Teaching hospital.

The body of a boy reported missing several days ago from Gonaganara in Buttala, was found on Wednesday. The body of eight-year-old, Supun Pushpakumara, was found floating on the Menik Ganga in the Demodaramulla area.

The boy was reported missing since October 17 and a search was launched following a complaint filed by the child’s parents. Police said the boy had gone missing while returning home by himself after going to the paddy field with his father, adjacent to the Yala forest reserve.

His sister and mother were present in the courts but did not want to bail him out.
