The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) has increased fuel prices with effect from midnight today.
The price of 92 octane petrol increased by Rs. 20 per litre. The price of 95 octane petrol increased by Rs. 23 per litre.
The price of a litre of auto diesel increased by Rs.7 and the price of a litre of super diesel increased by Rs.12
The Ministry of Finance announced that the price of kerosene also increased by Rs.7
Meanwhile, Lanka Indian Oil (LIOC) has also increased its prices from midnight today to match the above prices.
Meanwhile, Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today stated that the Ministerial Sub Committee on Cost of Living has decided to revise fuel prices.
He further stated that the loss incurred by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation due to buying fuel at a higher price and selling it at a lower price is Rs. 331 billion.
