The programme of collecting freshly harvested rice for the 'Hiru Sath-Paththini Seth Shanthiya' is in operation for the second day today (01).
In an effort to enhance the prosperity of the country the 'Hiru Sath-Paththini Seth Shanthiya' commenced with people contributing a pot full of rice from the new harvest near 'Ruwanweli Maha Seya', Anuradhapura, 'Kiriwehera', Kataragama and Mahiyangana Raja Maha Vihara.
The first 'Shanthi Yathra' which began from the 'Ruwanweli Maha Seya', Anuradhapura will visit the Sirivijaya Bodhirajaramaya in Kaluoya, Vijayaraja Viharaya in Karuwalagaswewa and Sri Anandaramaya, Anamaduwa.
The second 'Shanthi Yathra' which commenced from the Mahiyangana Raja Maha Vihara will reach the Dimbulagala Aranya Senasanaya, Sri Saddhatissaramaya in Aralaganwila and Polonnaruwa Sri Vijayaba Maha Pirivena.
The third 'Shanthi Yathra' which began from the 'Kiriwehera', Kataragama will reach the Rangiri Pawwa Seewali Daham Nikethanaya in Monaragala, Wellawaya Bauddha Mandiraya and Thanamalwila Maha Viharaya.
HIRU TV and HIRU FM invite you to offer a pot of freshly harvested rice to the 'Shanthikarma Yathrawa', that will travel to the villages and towns and to receive the blessings.
Based on the concept of Asia Broadcasting Corporation Chairman Rayynor Silva, the 'Sath Paththini Seth Shanthikarmaya' is scheduled to be held at the Nawagamuwa Purana Sath-Paththini Devalaya from midnight on 14 April and will continue until 03:00 a.m.
