Acting Inspector General of Police Chandana Wickramaratne has decided to award a cash prize of Rs 5 million to the owner of the lorry for providing information regarding the transport from Katuwapitiya, Negombo to Saindamarudu the items of the terrorists who were involved in the Easter Sunday attacks

Our Hiru news team recently revealed the financial difficulties he was facing after giving the information, where he mentioned that he was unable to pay the leasing rentals of the lorry.
 

The security forces who were conducting investigations into the incident was able to recover a large haul of equipment used by the terrorist in the Saindamarudu area based on the information provided by him.

Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekera, said that the acting IGP has decided to give him 5 million for the two pieces of information provided by him, being the personal reward of Rs 2.5 million per information provided.
