There are protests from many factions regarding the mudslinging poster campaign against the Hiru Media Network which has been launched making an impact on the independent media, as of now.
 
A complaint was filed yesterday at Police Headquarters against the mudslinging poster campaign which had been launched against the Hiru Media Network.

A mudslinging poster campaign was launched yesterday in and around Colombo city against the Hiru Media Network.
 
The individuals who were pasting these posters were caught in the eye of Hiru Reporters cameras in Maradana. They were engaged in the mudslinging poster campaign using three-wheelers and a van.

One of the three-wheelers they arrived in bore the number 21 -0877 and its owner is a person named S. Sivaraj.
 
His address is stated as 145/127 – A, Nagaswatte, Kirulapona.
 
Another three-wheeler and a van had also arrived to paste these posters.
 
The three –wheeler NC ABE -2619 was also used in pasting posters and it was registered under the name of D. M. R. Kumara Siriwardena of Cooperatives Place, Track-04, New Town, Medirigiriya.
 
We have also received photographs of persons who were engaged in pasting these mudslinging posters in Moratuwa and scenes of an individual who was pasting these posters again the Hiru Media Network on Cotta Road – Colombo were recorded on a Security Camera as well.
 
Meanwhile, these mud posters were put up in the Kottawa area as well, our cameras recorded a young man who was tearing up and removing these posters.
 
The Hiru Media Network lodged a complaint at Police Headquarters yesterday regarding mud poster campaign under CIB 3-187/43.
 
Meanwhile, the Maha Sangha, Politicians and Civil activists expressed their objections at a media briefing held today regarding the impacts targeting independent media.
