The court today ordered 80 banks and financial institutions to immediately provide to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) information on bank accounts in the name of IGP Pujith Jayasundara, sent on compulsory leave and former Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne issued the order considering the submissions made by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) pertaining to the case filed regarding the failure to act according to intelligence information received in connection with the Easter attacks.

The Magistrate also instructed the telephone companies to provide the CID with information about their telephone conversations.
