It is reported that the prices of Gold are skyrocketing in the local market following the duty increase announced yesterday (Apr. 18).
 
Yesterday the Finance Ministry said a 15% duty will be imposed on the value of Gold imports.

When we checked from the Gold traders it was found that the price a pound of Gold has risen between Rs. 6,000 to 7,000.
 
Accordingly, the price of a 22 karat pound has gone up by Rs. 6,000 to 57,000 from 51,000.
 
At the same time, the price of a 24 karat pound has increased by Rs. 7,000 to 62,000 from 55,000.
