The Deputy Prime Minister of Australia Barnaby Joyce says he will resign from his post following a politically damaging saga that began with his affair with a former staffer.
Joyce said he would step down as leader of the Nationals, the junior government partner, on Monday(Feb.19).
Until Friday(Feb.23), Joyce had resisted calls to quit as political opponents raised questions over whether he had breached ministerial standards.
He called his decision a "circuit-breaker".
